Wietsieshoek

Aaaaaaaaa... fresh air...

So, my boys (as in 'grown-ass men') and I went out on a 'boys' weekend in the mountains. This meant three things: No Wives, No Girlfriends, Lots of alcohol...

We went to the Drakensberg - a hop, a skip and a jump to Lesotho. Driving through the night from Jo'burg on Friday night, had its own challenges as we couldn't see shit! And most roads that side of the world, had no legible signage. But all we kept screaming was 'Road Trip, Road Trip'.

Long story, short... we found the place in the deserted parts of the mountain range. Checked in. Started drinking and talking shite into the night. And early morning.

The following day we were meant to go up the mountain blah blah blah tourist spot blah great views blah, but we chose to sleep in. Well rested, we started drinking and talking shite again. Ended up taking a tour of Nahamadi and Phuthaditjhaba's drinking holes and... winning a total of R5 in a game of pool. Which I later gave back to dude. I play for fun, y'see... And I don't want to get stabbed.

Met cool gentlemen - Ezekiel who works at Wietsieshoek Mountain Lodge where we stayed and another, Jerome from KwaMashu in KwaZulu Natal, who has been in the mountains for the past 3 months, installing air-conditioning systems. Had a drank with them. They came back to our rooms for some broke back mountain lovin'...

Hahahahahaha... delete, delete!

Road trips have this amazing ability to clear ones' thoughts. My next move in life is now as clear as daylight. Let's rock and kwaito! Now you know what I did this weekend. Whatchu do?

Take a break...

So, this past weekend, I took what I thought was a well-deserved break. Went to my favourite part of South Africa; the Western Cape. In particular; Cape Town. Me and me lady stayed at what could be the best place to be - O on Kloof. The service from this place is out of this fucking world. They want to do everything for you. Everything! You just have to be. Just be. So, we drank.

We pretty much tasted all the wine the Cape had to offer. Even enjoyed our excursion out to the wine farms. It was meant to be a lazy long weekend. And it was.

Tanqueray & Tonic

So, I had a lunch with J, Themba and Neo this afternoon. Oh, nothing fancy, just some steak and onion rings. The best part of this meal, other than the company, was my double Tanqueray n' Tonic. I had two of them. Now I'm back at work, pretending to work. 1 hour to go. Then I'm Audi like a Q7.
Question. Why can't I drink for a living? I could taste all the big brands and see if they live up to the promise. It's just a thought.  Don't Judge Motata me.
Anyway, enjoy your weekend. My brother and my mom are in Jozi for a short visit. I'm happy. Drunk and happy.

I'm a sucker for you

So, a few days ago, I went to the Keg & Filly here in Stunninghill, had a burger with guacamole(o)! Had the shits an hour later. Today, my friend, you'll be happy to know that I went back to celebrate a colleagues' 14 years in service for this industry. Yup 14 years. Anyway, it's been 38mins and not a shit in sight. Not even a stomach grumble. I'm sad.
