That night!

Today I woke up to the best news this year. Vikter Duplaix is coming to perform in Jozi. At one of the hottest spots, to boot. By the end of play, tickets will be in my hand!

Enjoy!

This is one of those times where it happened...
That thing happened...
That magic happened...
And it was captured on tape...

Aretha in my head

Don't you just hate it when your brain keeps singing a song and you are held hostage and have to listen to it singing all day?

That shit is happening to me today. In my shower this morning, this track kept playing incessantly. I eventually had to sing it out loud like an idiot. Well, I was hoping that that would get it out of my system. My neighbour, (the tall dude who's girlfriend can't cook to save her life), heard me. And laughed. Out loud!

What a douche.

I continued singing "I just gotta let you know, in case you didn't know..."

2 meetings and a movie

So, today I woke up early and put on my best garb. So, I'm looking kinda like a big deal! I smell nice, clean shaven, good belt, good jacket, good shoe... you get the pic. Why? Why Sandman? Why? Why, Le Bebe, why? I hear you ask. That's coz I'm have 3 very important meetings. Two clients and a private citizen. (Sidebar): I'm listening to Lou Donaldson - It's your thing.  This track was released in 1969, but it still kicks ass. I wonder if Soulja Boy Tellem will last this long. The track is a reason why I'm shopping for a good Ipod docking system for number 44. I can't go through another summer with no music.

Anyway, I digress. Where was I? Oh, yeah, my meetings...

Nah, there's nothing exciting about meetings. It's going to be more of the same. Client spews some nonsensical Marketing speak and I take what I'm given and play it back. Everybody happy? Yes. Sign on the dotted line, thank you.

Now I'm listening to Ronnie Foster - Mystic Brew. So you can see the type of day I plan to have. Mellow. No stress, baby!

Here's something interesting; tonight I'm off to the movies to see Javier Bardem doing his thang in Biutiful. I haven't been to an intelligent movie in a while. So, here's to the first of many to come.
As you can see, dear reader, I have nothing to report at this point. My life is what it is.

U never know

So, dear reader, today I learned a really big lesson and it is simply this: You never truly know someone until they allow you to truly know them.

Prodigal Sandz

So, I've been gone for a minute. Thanks for the emails from some of you that... 'love reading your shit'. Yup, verbatim. Those are my peeps.

Well, dear reader, I took a break, due to unforseen circumstances. I was not inspired to write and there were just too many things happening at the same time. Sorry, can't go into detail, even though this blog was designed as a barfing jug for me.

I'll tell you this much. I left my job after many months of íntense 'discussions'. I realised I had no future and I'd reached my ceiling. My hammer was not breaking through.

I'm now a man on my own. FREE. I work 3 days a week. And it's just peachy. I'm not used to this much free time. However, I'm quickly learning to take long walks, go to libraries, Tanquerays at 11am on the decks of some hotels, go to the movies, hitting the club scene and not have to working about 'hang-over at the office' etc. I'm also meeting new and interesting people. I've realised not everyone works in this Johannesburg. Oh, and that you don't have to work 9-5 to make a living - not make money, make a living.

I've rediscovered my passions. So, I guess I'm okay. Even though i'm not really looking for a job, I've gotten quite a few offers  - some may mean me moving from Jozi. Or having two apartments. I don't know if I'd enjoy the 'suitcase lifestyle'. But we'll see. I have 1 more month to think about it.

Yeah, there's lots to talk about. So, whenever I'm inspired I'll pop in and share WTF is going on with me.

Until then, take it easy,
S.
